RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication
It allows information to be published in a standard XML format that can be access via a Web address.
RSS 2.0 specifications are published by the RSS Advisory Board.

RSS is used by (among other things) news headlines, weblogs, schools, and audio & video podcasting.
RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish in a standardized format
An RSS document (which is called a feed, web feed, or channel) includes full or summarized text, plus metadata such as publishing dates and authorship.

Browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera and Microsofts Internet Explorer 7 have integrated support for RSS feeds.
